Make the answers public
- 01A services and prices page as text, not only a photo of a price board. Starting prices are fine if they are real.
- 02Name the specialities you genuinely have: hair types, colour techniques, extensions, men’s cuts, kids, bridal.
- 03A short bio for each stylist with what they focus on and any training, without inflated titles.
- 04Your booking method and policies: online booking link, walk-ins, deposits, cancellations.
- 05HairSalon structured data (schema.org) with address, hours and price range.
- 06Matching details on Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing Places, your booking platform and social profiles.
Photos help people; words help assistants
Salons often live on image-heavy social media. Pictures persuade people, but a model reading the web needs words. Add a short caption to your portfolio images that says what the service was, such as “lived-in blonde on curly hair”, and repeat key specialities on your own website as text.
See what clients would see
Run the free scan with “hair salon” (or a speciality such as “curly hair salon”) as the category and your city. You will see who the assistant names and why, with the sources cited.
Questions
Is an Instagram page enough for AI assistants to find my salon?
It helps people, but it is a weak source on its own. A simple website with services, prices, hours and address, plus consistent listings, gives assistants much more to work with.
Should I list prices if they vary by hair length?
Yes, as a starting price with a short note on what changes it. That answers the question honestly without locking you into one figure.
