Make yourself easy to identify
- 01A personal page or site that states your name, brokerage, licence where that is customary, and the areas you actually serve, in text.
- 02Pages for the neighbourhoods or towns you know well, with practical facts about housing types, transport, local amenities and links to official sources such as school district sites.
- 03Your process for sellers and for buyers, written plainly, including how you communicate and what you charge or how fees are agreed, where you can say so.
- 04The same name, photo, phone and brokerage on your brokerage profile, portal profiles, Google Business Profile and social bios.
- 05RealEstateAgent structured data on your own site with name, brokerage and area served.
Respect fair housing and advertising rules
Describe homes and neighbourhoods by their features, not by who lives there or who would “fit in”. Fair housing laws in many countries restrict language about race, religion, family status, disability and other protected characteristics. Brokerage and licensing rules may also govern how you advertise and whether you must show the brokerage name. Check the rules where you work; this page is general marketing information, not legal advice.
See the answers for your market
Run the free scan with “real estate agent” (or “listing agent”, “buyer’s agent”) as the category and your city or neighbourhood. You will see which agents and brokerages were named and which portals or articles the answers cited.
Questions
Why does the assistant name big portals instead of agents?
For broad questions some assistants send people to listing portals or brokerages. Specific questions, about a neighbourhood or a situation, are where an individual agent with clear public information has a better chance of being named.
Should I quote sales numbers on my site?
Only figures you can verify and that your rules allow you to publish. Unverifiable claims like “top agent” are risky for you and give an assistant nothing it can confirm.
