The questions clients ask
- “Best CPA for small businesses in [city]” or “accountant for freelancers near me”.
- “Tax preparer who handles rental property in [city]”.
- “Accountant for restaurants” or another industry they work in.
- “How much does a bookkeeper cost in [city]?”
- Urgent ones: “I missed the tax deadline, who can help?” or “accountant for an IRS letter”.
- By name: “Is [firm name] a good accounting firm?”
Make the answers public
- 01One page per service you actually offer: personal tax returns, business returns, bookkeeping, payroll, advisory, tax resolution. Say who each one is for.
- 02Name the client types and industries you serve, in plain words. “Contractors and trades businesses” is easier to quote than “a wide range of clients”.
- 03Say how pricing works: fixed fees, starting prices or how you quote. You do not have to publish exact prices, but “how do you charge?” is a common question.
- 04List the credentials each person holds, exactly as licensed, and the states or countries where the firm is licensed to practise.
- 05Use AccountingService structured data (schema.org) with your address, hours and service area.
- 06Keep your details identical on Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing Places and any professional directory you belong to.
Stay inside the rules
In many places only licensed individuals or firms may use titles such as CPA or chartered accountant, and state boards and professional bodies have rules on advertising and client testimonials. Describe credentials precisely and avoid promises about refunds or audit outcomes. This is general information, not legal or professional advice: check the rules that apply to you. Precise, verifiable claims are also the ones an assistant can repeat safely.
Seasonal questions are a chance
Tax deadlines bring a wave of questions every year. A short, accurate page about each deadline you help with, what to bring and how quickly you can take on new clients, gives an assistant something current to cite when people panic.
See what clients would see
Run the free scan with “accountant” (or “CPA”, “bookkeeper”, “tax preparer”) as the category and your city. The result shows each reply, which firms were named, and the pages cited, so you can see which sources the assistant trusted.
Questions
Should my accounting firm list every service on one page?
A single overview page is fine, but a separate page for each main service gives assistants a clearer match for specific questions such as payroll or tax resolution.
Do I need to publish my prices?
No. Saying how you charge and what affects the price is usually enough to answer the question honestly. Only publish figures you will stand behind.
Can AskedAboutYou make AI assistants recommend my firm?
No. Nobody outside the AI companies controls their answers. The scan shows you what a search-grounded model says today and which sources it used, so you know what to fix.
Check what AI says about your business
The free scan asks five customer-style questions with live web search and shows every reply word for word, who was named, and which pages were cited. About a minute, no card.
