- “Best vet in [city]” or “vet near me accepting new patients”.

Make the answers public
- 01Say which animals you treat, and which you refer elsewhere. “Dogs, cats and small mammals; no reptiles” is a useful sentence.
- 02Publish your real hours and your out-of-hours arrangement: whether you handle emergencies or which emergency clinic you send people to.
- 03Say whether you are taking new patients and how to register.
- 04A page for each main service: wellness and vaccines, dentistry, surgery, imaging, end-of-life care. Mention any accreditation you actually hold.
- 05Explain how pricing works, such as wellness plans or consultation fees, if you are comfortable publishing it.
- 06VeterinaryCare structured data (schema.org), and identical details on Google Business Profile, Apple Maps, Bing Places and pet-care directories.
Out-of-hours accuracy matters most
An assistant that sends a worried owner to a closed clinic at midnight is the worst outcome for everyone. If you are not an emergency clinic, say so clearly and name where to go instead. Accurate hours on every listing are the single most useful fix for urgent questions.

Questions
Should a general practice vet mention emergency care at all?
Yes, honestly: state what you do in office hours and where clients should go out of hours. That stops assistants from describing you as an emergency clinic by mistake.
Do pet-care directories matter?
They are one of several sources an assistant may read. Keep the ones you use accurate and consistent with your website; an outdated listing can spread wrong hours.
